Get a Little Crazy

“Now those who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except Jews. But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Hellenists also, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number who believed turned to the Lord.” (Acts 11:19-21, ESV)

Crazy. These few men from Cyprus and Cyrene were told they were crazy. They did what was just “not done”.

“Preach the gospel to the Gentiles? Act normal!”

But these few people were certain of one thing: the gospel, the good news that God gave Himself for the world (Galatians 1:4) was a message for everyone. Persecution had brought them to Antioch but passion brought them to this group of non-Jews. And the fruit of their passion: a Jesus movement among the people that became so great and meaningful that it also quickly became the center of the gospel mission among the Gentiles.

Now it just sounds logical. Then it was crazy.

It doesn’t matter what brought you here. How big is your passion? Is it big enough to carry the message of love, hope and salvation through Jesus Christ to the people who are often overlooked?

Passion is often called “crazy” … until people’s lives begin to change.

So what am I trying to say?

Get a little crazy in Jesus name.
