Open Your Eyes
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he went to live in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God. (Hebrews 11:8-10)
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? (Isaiah 43:19)
It says, “he went out… for he was looking forward.”
Faith is not some vague feeling. It is isn’t positive thinking. Its so much more powerful than that. Faith is expectation. Abraham left his ordinary life behind because God had promised something and he was looking forward to the fulfillment of that promise - he was expecting it to actually come to pass.
Expectation doesn’t just wait - it prepares and takes action.
We will not experience the new thing the Lord is doing within and among us if we do not open our eyes to see it. And no one opens their eyes unless they are expecting to see something.
